Catering

Only if you want it

Real food, served from the truck. Full-service catering is on the table whenever you want it, and quietly off it when you don’t. Ask and we’ll handle the menu, staff, and service. Skip it, and the truck still does its job.

Real brands, real streets.

What people book us for.

Most of the calendar is private and corporate. Food trucks for weddings usually come in for the part a caterer handles badly: late-night service after the plated dinner, or dessert that people queue for instead of ignore. The same truck does birthdays and block parties without changing anything but the menu.

On the work side, corporate events and product launches want the truck to be the venue, not the catering. That is where the wrap earns its cost: a branded vehicle parked on the right block is a storefront you did not have to lease. Film and TV production books us differently again: crew meals on location, and trucks that have to look right on camera.

Not everything we run is a food truck. An ice cream truck rental moves more people per hour than almost anything else we own, and a coffee cart fits through a doorway, which matters more often than you would think. Both wrap the same way a truck does.

Agencies tend to arrive with a brief rather than an occasion. If you are scoping experiential marketing across several markets, start there. It covers how a multi-city run is priced and staffed. If you are still deciding whether a truck is the right format at all, the brand activation guide is the honest version, including when it is not.

New York is home. Every borough has its own parking, permitting, and foot-traffic reality, and food truck rental in NYC sets out what each one actually takes, borough by borough. We also run New Jersey, Long Island, and Connecticut.

What does foodtruckrentals.com do?
We rent out food trucks and run branded food truck activations for brands and agencies. That means one partner handles the truck, the custom wrap, the staffing, the permits and insurance, and the location, instead of you coordinating four separate vendors. Catering is available but never required.
What is the minimum spend?
$1,500 a day for an unbranded truck with its operator and service staff. A custom-wrapped, staffed activation starts at $10,000 for a single day, and multi-day or multi-market campaigns start around $50,000. Those are published guidance, not a quote.
Is renting a food truck worth it?
It depends what you are comparing it against. Against buying, renting wins outright for anything short of a full-time food business: a built-out truck runs six figures before staff, storage, insurance, and year-round permits, and it still has to be parked somewhere the other 350 days. Against a caterer or a marquee, a truck costs more per head but arrives with its own kitchen, its own power, and a crowd that stops to look at it, which is the point when the day is meant to be seen rather than only fed. Ours start at $1,500 a day.
Which brands have you worked with?
Louis Vuitton, Bloomingdale's, Michael Kors, Cipriani, and Kendall Jenner, among others. We also built a custom truck with Chef Daniel Humm's Eleven Madison Park and the nonprofit Rethink, and ran five trucks with World Central Kitchen and Chef José Andrés during COVID-19, serving more than 100,000 meals to hospitals and first responders.
What kinds of trucks and carts can I rent?
Food trucks, ice cream trucks, and espresso coffee carts, plus custom builds when an activation needs a vehicle that does not exist yet. Carts fit through a standard doorway and work indoors; trucks need a street or lot. Anything in the fleet can be wrapped to your creative.
Do you rent outside New York City?
Yes. All five boroughs are home, and we also cover Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Multi-market campaigns beyond the tri-state area are quoted case by case, because the wrap, transport, and permitting all change once a truck leaves the region.
Do I need to hire anyone else?
No. The wrap is designed in-house, the staff are ours and brand-trained, and permitting, insurance, and location scouting are handled on our side. Bring your own chef or menu if you would rather (plenty of clients do), but nothing about the activation requires a second vendor.

Let’s put your brand on the street.
